Opposition MP Lucia Plaváková from the PS party announced on September 30 that she will appeal to the Constitutional Court of Slovakia. She plans to file a complaint citing harassment and discrimination that limits her parliamentary mandate and freedom of expression. The controversy began when Parliamentary Vice-Chair Andrej Danko expelled her from a session due to stickers on her laptop. PS leader Michal Šimečka condemned this as an unprecedented act of bullying against Plaváková, adding that it violates her constitutional rights.
Plaváková also criticized derogatory remarks made by SNS MP Rudolf Huliak, stating that such behavior encourages further mistreatment of women. She plans to file a personal protection lawsuit against Huliak and has reported receiving threats. As chair of the parliamentary human rights committee, Plaváková emphasized her commitment to fighting discrimination, saying, "We will never back down from evil."
