Acting Statutory Representative of STVR, Igor Slanina, will remain in his position until the end of 2024. The extension of his mandate was decided by Peter Žiga, Deputy Speaker of the Parliament, acting in the capacity of the Speaker. Slanina expressed gratitude for the trust placed in him, stating his commitment to ensuring STVR continues fulfilling its essential public service role in Slovakia’s media market. Slanina, former head of Media RTVS, was initially appointed on July 1st with his term set to expire on September 30th. The election of a new director is pending, awaiting the full staffing of the STVR Council.
