Government to deal with Slovakia's involvement in rebuilding Ukraine

At its regular session on Wednesday, the Cabinet will deal with Slovakia's involvement in rebuilding Ukraine, changes in the Sport Support Fund, cyber security and some proposals sponsored by the Education Ministry.

Concerning Ukraine's rebuilding, Slovakia should engage in modernising highways, building a rail connection and increasing the capacities of border crossings.

The government is due to decide whether to include the modernisation of Bratislava's river port among strategic investments on Wednesday. The cost of its reconstruction, which might start next March, is estimated at €178 million.

Cabinet ministers are also expected to increase the Sport Support Fund's budget to €60 million annually, expand the scope of its activities and change the method for electing its director.

The cabinet should also okay the presence of foreign troops in the country, as Valiant Lynx 24 international military exercise is due to take place in Slovakia at the end of the year.

The government is also set to approve new rules for a minimum network of outpatient specialists.
