Advance payments to farmers total €305 million

The Agriculture Payment Agency (PPA) has paid advance payments to farmers amounting to €305 million, Agriculture Minister Richard Takac (Smer-SD) told a news conference held on Monday (December 2) with PPA general director Marek Cepko in attendance, stressing that this has happened for the first time in the agency's 20-year history.

"Farmers thus have more than 50 percent of the direct payments, or €305 million, in their accounts in the form of advance payments. It's a historic step towards the gradual renewal, modernisation, digitisation and adjustment of the PPA, which should be here for farmers," stated Takac.

The rest of the money will be paid to farmers by June 30, 2025, said the minister, adding that €600 million in total has been allocated for direct payments to farmers.

Cepko specified that the agency started to issue decisions on payments as of December 2, and it will continue to do so until the end of June 2025.
