Slovak businesses are getting more concerned about corruption. The issues include manipulated public tenders, unequal access to permits, and the lack of punishment for corrupt individuals. A survey by the Anti-Corruption Foundation revealed that corruption in Slovakia is considered a widespread problem, with 85% of 500 surveyed entrepreneurs highlighting it as a significant issue.
The survey also showed that Slovakia's appeal to foreign investors is at its lowest in five years, and corruption perceptions have worsened more in Slovakia than elsewhere in Europe. Among European entrepreneurs, Slovak businesses have the least confidence that those involved in corruption will face punishment, with only 26% expecting justice, compared to the European average of 54%.
