Parliament has adjourned some personnel elections until its next regular session due to start on February 4, House Vice-chair Peter Ziga (Hlas-SD), who has been tasked with heading Parliament on a temporary basis, announced on Tuesday.
This applies to the election of members of the Council of public-service broadcaster Slovak Television and Radio (STVR), as well as members of the Media Service Council, a member of the Board of Directors of the News Agency of the Slovak Republic (TASR), a member of the Board of Directors of the Nation's Memory Institute (UPN) and a Judicial Council member.
The vote on an opposition proposal to dismiss Rudolf Huliak (Independent) from the post of parliamentary agriculture and environment committee head has also been rescheduled for the February session, along with a Slovak National Party (SNS)-sponsored amendment to the law on NGOs, which is set to include regulation of lobbying by NGOs.
