This year, the labor market in Slovakia faced shortage of qualified workers, with 79% of employers struggling to find suitable candidates. The sectors most affected were transportation and logistics (87%), healthcare and pharmaceuticals (82%), finance and real estate (81%), and commerce and services (80%). The IT sector and heavy industries also faced difficulties in filling positions. Factors influencing this shortage include an aging population, the retirement of older workers, and the migration of employees and students abroad.
