Crisis in Health Sector: Chamber of Doctors appeals to Constitutional Court

Health Minister Kamil Sasko (Hlas-SD) spoke on the phone with Doctor’s Union head Peter Visolajsky on Tuesday, and they agreed that the Minister would inform the government about their request to convene a special House session, ministry spokesperson Andrej Wallner confirmed on the same day.

Meanwhile, the Slovak Chamber of Doctors strongly rejects the newly-approved legislation aimed to ensure the preservation of public access to health care by enabling the holding of doctors protesting with mass resignations criminally liable and will file a complaint with the Prosecutor-General and Public Ombudsman to challenge the legislation in the Constitutional Court.

"The support for the Slovak Chamber of Doctors was voiced in this regard also by the Standing Committee of European Doctors," stated chamber communication manager Nancy Zavodska.
