Russian President Vladimir Putin said on Thursday that Slovakia is ready to host talks between Russia and Ukraine, and Moscow is not opposed to Slovakia hosting such talks. Referring to the TASS and Reuters news agencies, TASR reports.
Putin said at a press conference that Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico, who recently visited Russia, expressed readiness to provide his country's territory as a platform for negotiations between Moscow and Kyiv if such talks take place. "We are not against it," the Russian President continued.
“From our point of view, Slovakia is neutral. It is an acceptable option for us," Putin was quoted as saying by the TASS news agency. Responding to a question from journalists, the Russian President also said that the main topic of his talks with Fico in Moscow was the peaceful settlement of the situation in Ukraine.
