Economy Minister Tomas Malatinský is accompanying President Ivan Gašparovič on his official visit to Turkey. The Minister was commissioned by the Cabinet to sign the Memorandum of Understanding and Co-operation in Energy between Slovakia and Turkey which should support and speed up the launch of energy projects involving Slovak companies working in Turkey. Also, according to the memorandum, the two countries should cooperate in areas such as renewable energy, nuclear power and in the construction and operation of thermal and hydroelectric power plants.
