Circular economy: When waste becomes value

"Take-make-dispose" or mine a raw material, make a product and throw it away after use. This is a traditional, linear economy model that has governed our consumer actions for many decades. As a result, our planet is facing an unprecedented environmental crisis. Each year, humanity's demand for new natural resources exceeds the Earth's capacity to regenerate. And we maintain this deficit by liquidating stocks of ecological resources and accumulating carbon dioxide in the atmosphere. So how can we reverse these devastating practices? According to many experts, the transition to a circular economy is an important part of the complex solution.
