Survey: Patients evaluate hospitals in pandemic

Slovak patients were more satisfied with children's hospitals during the year marked by the coronavirus pandemic, a survey carried out by health insurer Dôvera revealed on Thursday. The survey was carried out among 6,500 Dôvera policyholders who were treated in a Slovak hospital last year. "Patients are very well aware of how demanding the period that the Slovak health-care sector and Slovak hospitals are experiencing is," said Dôvera general director Martin Kultan. When it comes to faculty hospitals, the best rated was the Central Military Hospital in Ružomberok (Žilina region), followed by the Children's Faculty Hospital in Banská Bystrica and the University Hospital in Martin (Žilina region). Regarding specialised hospitals, St. Elizabeth Cancer Care Institute in Bratislava topped the chart, followed by Cinre Bratislava and the National Institute of Diabetes and Endocrinology in Ľubochňa (Žilina region). This was the 15th time Dôvera has carried out such a survey.
