The embracing of face masks in Slovakia by public figures rather early on was first perhaps seen as quite a bizarre act, especially when photographs of the swearing in of the new government on March 21 hit the social media. Yet, on May 13, an article from the American magazine the Atlantic highlighted politicians wearing masks as one of the key points leading to Slovakia's success in containing the virus. How important is the presentation of political leaders in such unprecedented times? Zuzana Botikova discussed this questions and more with Jan Zilinsky, a specialist on social media from New York University.
