The international wine competition Danube wine challenge opened on Thursday in Bela, south western Slovakia. The competition has been included as one of the 18 prestigious contests of the World Federation of Major International Wine and Spirits Competitions. It focuses on comparing wines produced in the region along the river Danube with international wines grown in different climate conditions. The international jury consisting of 46 members, some of them respected judges at international competitions, will decide on the winners of the 7 categories as well as overall champions and laureates this upcoming weekend.
