Slovak Para cyclist Jozef Metelka won bronze on a 1000m time trial race at the Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games. The winner was Alfonso Llamas Cabello from Spain and the second was Brit Jody Cundy. With a time of 1:04.786, Metelka fell behind the winner by 3.229 s. "I'm very happy. For me, bronze is like gold. The two who overtook me do not train anything else but 1000m. With the handicap currently set in my category, we all really raced for bronze. And I won it," Metelka told paralympic.sk.
