Slovak women’s basketball team began their qualification for the Eurobasket Women 2015, the equivalent of the European Championships, with a victory against Slovenia 74:58. Captain Zuzana Žirková is pleased with the score.
“It’s a victory that belongs to the whole team although I am not very pleased with the quality of the basketball we played. The next match against Luxembourg will be an easier one. “
Their next qualifying match against Luxembourg is played on Wednesday. Then on Sunday they meet Poland the favourite to win the group and the ticket to the European Championship. The second legs will be played in the next two weeks with Slovaks finishing the qualification on home ground in Košice against Poland.
