On Saturday kayakers Erik Vlček and Juraj Tarr won the bronze medal in the 1000m race at the European Championships.
“It was a super ride on our side. The conditions were very difficult today, ever changing winds. Once it blew from behind, then we had front wind. I worry whether we can put the boat of the perfect trackside pace because tailwind can be treacherous. You think you row easily and suddenly you run out of power. We had a good start and were close to advance to the second place, however, the French boat managed to hold on the silver position. We are very satisfied with this bronze medal. After a long time we have managed to win a medal at a top competition.’ said Vlček. A former member of the K4 team, he cheered for his team mates on Sunday when the Slovak K4 boat with Marek Krajčovič, Matej Michálek, Gábor Jakubík and Viktor Demin managed to grab the silver medal in the 1000m race.
