On Friday evening it was hammer thrower Martina Hrašnová’s turn to hang a silver medal around her neck at the European Championships. A second such medal of her career.
“It rained but it did not bother me as much as the cold did. In addition to this I could not locate my supporters in the stands. After the final I could not express my joy in words but when I went to bed I could not fall asleep. I was overwhelmed by mixture of emotions; I cried and I laughed with joy. I think the bronze medal from the World Championships remains my biggest achievement. This silver, however, is valuable because after a not so good start of the season I did not believe in a medal at the Europeans,” said Hrašnová.
