Slovak water slalom racer Matej Beňuš won the bronze medal in the C1 at the Olympic Games in Paris. He finished third in the final 5.67 behind Nicolas Gestin. For Slovakia it is the first medal in Paris, Beňuš also has the Olympic silver from Rio de Janeiro 2016 in the same discipline in his collection.
