The IIHF World Junior Championships taking place in Toronto, Canada, saw Slovak ice-hockey players performing well beyond expectations. After winning 3-0 over the Czech team on Friday, the Slovak team succeeded onto Sunday semi-finals, where they faced the tournament favourites; Canada. This match didn't deliver any surprises, Canada won 5-1. Nevertheless, the full Air Canada Centre in Toronto gave Slovaks a standing ovation and chanted the name of the Slovak goalie Denis Godla, who despite the score performed excellently. Tonight Slovakia will face Sweden in the fight for bronze.
