The granting of money from the Fund for the Slovak Arts Council (FPU) will now be decided by the Fund's Board. It will take into account the opinion of the expert commission, which will be its advisory body, but it will not be bound by it. This follows from the amendment to the FPU Act, which entered into force on Thursday.
The number of board members is also changing, increasing from nine to 13. The FPU's Supervisory Board will now have five members. Among other things, the contribution from the state budget to the fund is also being increased. The scope of the purposes for which the Fund provides funding is also expanded, namely to support the restoration, modernisation and infrastructure of cultural buildings and the promotion of traditional folk culture.
