And the world stars of classical music are coming to town. The 53rd Bratislava music festival starts today, 28th September. The opening concert will be conducted by the new chief conductor of the Slovak philharmonic James Judd. The festival program includes performances by Wiener philharmoniker, the Guarneri Trio or singers Speranza Scappucci and Lawrence Brownlee. Listeners can enjoy music by Claude Debussy, Dmitrij Shostakovich, Sergei Prokofiev, Tschaikovski, Brahms and Bela Bartok. It will also be possible to learn about the local production e.g. in a concert presenting Slovak piano music.
