Electronica Vision

Co-organised by the Embassy of the Slovak Republic, the Electronica event will feature Slovak artist Jimmi Pé along with music producers from the Czech Republic and Hungary. The winner of the best electronic album of the year at the Radio-Head Awards run by public Radio_FM, Jimmi Pé will present his electronic fantasies in London on Friday, 1 December.  

Fusing SK/CZ with music/dance

Czech-Slovak Fusion is part of a series of two performances based on music and dance improvisation. Czech and Slovak performers will take the stage to remind the audience that although 30 years have passed since the division of the two countries, both remain in close social and artistic contact. The idea is not only to link the two countries, but also to link generations and artistic disciplines. You can see it on Sunday, 3 December in Bratislava and Thursday, 7 December in Ostrava in the Czech Republic.

Meet NEXT music

NEXT, the international festival of new music and sonic art, started in Bratislava on Wednesday, 29 November. Through Sunday, 3 December, it will present 23 composers and performers of contemporary experimental music production. They will push back the boundaries in music at 5 venues in the Slovak capital including A4 – Space for Contemporary Culture, New Evangelical Church as well as the boiler room of the Faculty of Architecture and Design among others.

Gypsy Jazz Festival

The 12th International Gypsy Jazz Festival will be held in the Slovak Radio building in Bratislava on Friday and Saturday, 1-2 December. This genre is linked to France where it began in the first half of the 20th century with the most popular representative of this style, the Belgian guitarist Django Reinhardt. In 2023 Bratislava, the Balkan Gypsy Jazz Quartet will come to the Slovak capital from their tour in France. Audiences will have the chance to see Macedonian Esma´Band Next Generation, Irish singer Charlie Moon, Israeli duo Enav Ephrat and Gilad Ephrat and US star saxophone player Jerry Bergonzi among others. Slovak bands will feature the saxophone player Milo Suchomel, dulcimer player Lubomir Gaspar or drummer Martin Valihora.
