Searching for Beauty to represent Slovakia

The multimedia project Searching for Beauty will present Slovakia during its presidency of the EU council that will start on July 1. The Slovak Design Centre and artist duo called Ové Pictures has launched a web gallery and a GIF-generator where anyone can upload his piece of art. "Our goal is not to present Slovakia as an idealised folklore county. We want to see pictures of new art that comes from the environment in which we live", explained Mária Rišková, the curator of the project. The website is user friendly so that anyone can participate; only one click is needed to upload content. The website Searching for Beauty is directly connected with a multimedia exhibition that will open on July 11 in the building of the European Parliament in Brussels.
