Slovak economy to grow by 3.5% this year

Slovakia's GDP is expected to grow by 3.5% this year, according to the latest forecast of the Slovak National Bank. "The Slovak economy continues to grow at a rate of more than 3%. It's expected that this growth will continue to create new jobs in the future, although with a slower pace than in this year," said Vice-Governor of the National Bank Ján Tóth. In 2017 the growth of GDP is expected to slow down to 3.3% with the possible negative impact of Brexit included in the forecast. In 2018, the economy is expected to accelerate to 4.2%. When looking into the unemployment rate forecast, the National Bank expects its continual decrease to 8.5% in 2018.
