President Andrej Kiska flew between Bratislava and Poprad at his own request 319 times, Interior Minister Robert Kaliňák reported in Parliament on Wednesday. According to Kaliňák, these flights were not related to the performance of the President's official duties, moreover the Presidential Office did not pay for them. Since president Kiska was on a working visit to Israel, the Deputy Speaker of Parliament Lucia Ďuriš Nicholsonová read an earlier declaration by the president stating that after taking office, the Interior Minister had asked the president to use the squadron for his personal flights, too, because the aircraft and pilots had flown few hours and all of the presidential flights have in fact an official status.
