OECD meeting in Paris on fighting corruption

Prime Minister Robert Fico travelled to Paris on Thursday, where he is to attend and speak at the 2017 OECD Global Anti-Corruption and Integrity Forum. He should also meet with OECD Secretary General Gurría Angelo. In January, the Slovak government asked the OECD to audit its anti-corruption laws. Slovakia is known for its problems with corruption, since on a list compiled by Transparency International in 2016, Slovakia ranked in 54th place out of the 176 evaluated countries. Within the European Union, Slovakia is the 7th worst in fighting corruption.
