On Wednesday, the Parliament began discussing the law of the year: the draft of the state budget for 2018. In the draft, the Finance ministry counts on the deficit falling to 0.83% of gross domestic product. According to the Finance Minister Peter Kažimír, the budget respects consolidation requirements, while reflecting the government's program. However, the opposition wants the minister to explain why there is a plan for the Office for Network Regulation to have a higher budget than before. According to opposition MP Karol Galek (SaS), who drew attention to the growth of the regulatory authority's resources, the government should not abuse the expenditures of people through regulated energy prices.
