Vice-governor: I want keep NBS as respected institution

My top priority as the Slovak central bank (NBS) vice-governor is for the central bank to maintain its status of being a respected institution and that it is present at the most serious economic debates, stated new NBS Vice-governor Ľudovít Ódor after being appointed to the post by Slovak President Andrej Kiska on Tuesday. Ódor doesn't wish to adopt any quick measures at the moment. "I think that a long-term strategy needs to be developed and then some changes can be implemented after some time. If they are necessary, then I'll try to seek approval from my colleagues at the bank board," said the new NBS vice-governor, adding that it should first be determined how the bank's performance can be made even more efficient than it is now. Ódor added that his focus lies in macroeconomic and monetary policy analyses and research, as well as investment strategy.
