Unemployment might drop below 5 percent

Unemployment might drop below five percent this year, expects the Labour Minister Ján Richter. This trend should be strengthened by the growing economy and government measures taken. Richter stated: "In all disadvantaged regions, there is a crucial decrease of registered unemployment rate on the way. In total, out of all those registered as unemployed, 43 percent of those individuals have been jobless long term." In Slovakia, there are currently seventeen regions in which the unemployment rate sits under three percent, while fifteen regions are above ten percent.
