Iceland's capital city of Reykjavik has appeared first in the list of the greenest cities for tourists, having the largest number of green areas per capita of all 50 locations surveyed, the Dutch travel agency TravelBird stated on Tuesday. New Zealand's largest city, Auckland, came in second, and the Slovak capital, Bratislava, came third. Places four and five were taken by Gothenburg in Sweden and Sydney in Australia. The subject list analysed data from 50 favourite holiday destinations and the number and type of green areas, such as parks, meadows, golf courses, and vineyards. Edinburgh was ranked the highest among British cities, while the USA's greenest cities were rated as Washington and Los Angeles.
