Slovakia's Gross domestic product (GDP) in fixed prices rose year-on-year by 4.1 percent in the second quarter of 2018, according to a preliminary GDP growth estimate published by the Statistics Office on Tuesday. When seasonal effects were taken into account, GDP was up by 3.9 percent y-o-y, and by 1 percent quarter-on-quarter. In current prices, this means GDP in the April-June period amounted to €22.609 billion; up by 6.7 percent year-on-year. The Statistics Office will release updated GDP growth and employment figures based on further available data on September 7.
