Minister Lajcak Speaks in Kiev about Unlocking Political Process

Foreign Minister Miroslav Lajčak (Smer-SD) spoke on Tuesday in Kiev about opportunities for unlocking the political process in the Ukrainian conflict as well as ways to mitigate the suffering of people who are affected by the conflict. This is Lajčak's first trip to OSCE conflict regions in the position of acting chairman of the Organisation for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE). He said that Slovakia is taking its OSCE presidency very seriously and hopes it will be useful. "We have national interests in ending this conflict as soon as possible, and in making this country safe and prosperous," said the minister. He added that he plans to use the knowledge gained in Ukraine during his visit to Moscow in February.
