Leaders of the EU Member States, including Slovakia, are willing to support a short-term delay in Britain's departure from the EU, says the Slovak Prime Minister Peter Pellegrini. At the Wednesday meeting of the Parliamentary Committee for European Affairs, Pellegrini presented Slovakia's positions for the regular European Council meeting in Brussels on Thursday and Friday. The Slovak PM also wants to avoid the risks of undermining the functioning and the legitimacy of the European institutions in the context of the elections to the European Parliament. In addition to questions regarding Brexit, the European Council summit in Brussels should also focus on strengthening the European economic base.
