Professional soldiers will be better financially rewarded for their service. On Wednesday, Parliament passed an amendment to the Act on the State Service of Professional Soldiers. According to its wording, the salary of professional soldiers will be newly composed of several components, namely the so-called rank and functional tariff. Professional soldiers' rank salary will increase by one percent per year of service. According to the Defence Ministry, the current remuneration system is inadequate. Among other things, the ministry expects the amendment to make the military profession more attractive. At present, according to figures from planning documents, the Armed Forces lack several thousand professional soldiers.
