Subsidies for electric car buyers

For the purchase of a new vehicle with a purely electric engine it will be possible to obtain a subsidy of €8,000 and in the case of plug-in hybrids €5,000, according to the Economy Ministry, which has announced that individuals as well as entrepreneurs and the public administration can apply for the subsidy. The maximum purchase price of a vehicle eligible for a subsidy is €50,000 including VAT. The first applications can be submitted on December 17th to the Slovak Innovation and Energy Agency. A total of €5 million has been allocated to support electric cars.
