Cyprus-based company Lemikon is again suing state-run lottery and betting company Tipos for €33 million, Pravda daily reported. According to Tipos, Bratislava Regional Court is carrying out primary legal actions in connection with the appeal, and the file will then be sent to the Supreme Court. The case will be assessed by a panel of judges who haven't ruled on it before. If Lemikon succeeds at the Supreme Court, Tipos will have to pay the amount demanded. In 2008, the Supreme Court ruled in favour of Lemikon, and then finance minister Jan Počiatek (Smer-SD) decided to settle the dispute by agreeing to pay €66.39 million. The state paid the first instalment of €16 million. Tipos subsequently tried to reverse the case for several years, stating that it would claim back the €16 million paid. In August, it finally succeeded at the Supreme Court, which dismissed the action against Tipos. Attention was again drawn to the case at the end of last year by a video in which Počiatek was shown asking then prosecutor-general Dobroslav Trnka to support his actions concerning Tipos.
