Foreign Minister Miroslav Lajcak paid a bilateral visit to Ankara on the invitation of his counterpart Mevlut Cavusoglu. Lajcak also met the Turkish parliament's Foreign Affairs Committee chair Volkan Bozkir, who is running for the post of President of the 75th UN General Assembly. The talks revolved around current foreign affairs issues and the need to reform the UN as well as the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. Bozkir also inquired about Lajcak's experience from the days when he held the post of President of the 72nd UN General Assembly in 2017-18 and his take on the UN.
