Slovakia unequivocally rejects the new European migration and asylum policy - the so-called EU Migration Pact - and the mandatory resettlement of illegal migrants, Foreign Minister Juraj Blanár stated on Thursday. According to Blanár, individual EU members should be allowed to decide themselves on what kind of aid they choose, without any need to make mandatory financial contributions. He underlined that the EU Migration Pact is unsustainable and will fail to resolve the migration problem.
Blanár was speaking in response to Wednesday's approval of the legislation by the European Parliament.
