President: It's not okay to attack a person's dignity

It's not okay to attack a person's dignity regardless of their political opinion, President Zuzana Čaputová has posted on a social network. She added that the atmosphere in Slovakia has been marked by hatred since the election. "Let's stop it, please, before it gets out of control," wrote the President.

Čaputová views humiliation, dehumanisation, and vulgar insults on the street and hateful comments on social networks addressed to publicly-known figures, journalists, athletes and politicians just because of disagreement with their opinions or work as unacceptable.

"Condemnatory superiority doesn't help us. A contest in expressing frustration doesn't help us. Sarcasm, mocking at the expense of others isn't helpful, either. Having respect for others, for their humanity, this is what helps," stated the President.
