Pellegrini viewed as most trustworthy politician

The most trustworthy politician is Hlas-SD leader and president-elect Peter Pellegrini, according to a recent survey carried out by Focus agency on behalf of television channel Markiza.

In the survey, 49 percent of the respondents claimed that they trust Pellegrini, while 50 percent expressed their distrust in him.

The president-elect was followed by outgoing President Zuzana Caputova, who was seen as trustworthy by 45 percent of the respondents and untrustworthy by 54 percent.

Premier Robert Fico (Smer-SD) was placed third, trusted by 36 percent and distrusted by 64 percent.

The results for other politicians were as follows: Progressive Slovakia leader Michal Simecka - trusted by 29 percent and distrusted by 66 percent; KDH leader Milan Majersky - trusted by 28 percent and distrusted by 61 percent, Republic head Milan Uhrik - trusted by 26 percent and distrusted by 63 percent; SNS chair Andrej Danko - trusted by 24 percent and distrusted by 75 percent; SaS ex-leader Richard Sulik - trusted by 22 percent and distrusted by 76 percent; Alliance head Krisztian Forro - trusted by 22 percent and distrusted by 59 percent; Democrats leader Jaroslav Nad - trusted by 21 percent and distrusted by 73 percent, and Slovakia party chair Igor Matovic - trusted by 15 percent and distrusted by 84 percent of the respondents.

The survey was carried out on a sample of 1,015 respondents.
