New orders in Slovak industry went down by 6.8 percent year-on-year (y-o-y) to €5.51 billion in February 2024, the Statistics Office reported on Tuesday.
After seasonal adjustments, new orders in industry increased by 2.4 percent month-on-month (m-o-m).
The volume of new orders in industry dropped in eight of the 12 monitored branches in the second month of the year.
The biggest y-o-y fall in industrial orders was reported in the production of clothing, chemicals and chemical products and in the production of computer, electronic and optical products. Meanwhile, orders grew mostly in the production of basic pharmaceutical products, in the production and processing of metals and in the production of electric appliances.
