European Commissioner for Values and Transparency and interim European Commissioner for Justice Vera Jourova confirmed that she will travel to Slovakia for a working visit in April 25-26.
Jourova's tour across EU countries called Democracy Tour is aimed to ensure integrity of election processes in the run-up to the European Parliament elections in June, seeing as there are concerns in the EU that the process could be distorted by disinformation.
According to Jourova, European voters should make informed choices on the future of the EU as part of a fair political competition and not under the influence of disinformation and manipulations.
Jourova, who is a commissioner also responsible for compliance with the rule of law, plans to meet in Bratislava on April 25 with representatives of the Slovak Government, media, NGOs and academia. On April 26, Friday, she will visit eastern Slovakia, Kosice and vicinity.
