The number of people with whooping cough is on the rise in the Bratislava region. The most infected are children, mainly under 1 year of age. The Public Health Authority (PHA) stated that whooping cough spreads quickly in families or closed groups. Increased incidence of the disease is recorded every three to five years. According to PHA data, after three years of the COVID-19 pandemic, an increase in the disease has also been recorded in the Slovak Republic.
