Vasectomies are becoming more popular in Slovakia, with growing numbers of Slovak men opting to go under the knife year after year. However, Slovakia is a largely Christian nation with the majority of its inhabitants being followers of the Roman Catholic Church, which means that such a procedure is at odds with the teachings of the Church.
To coincide with World Vasectomy Day 2016, Gavin Shoebridge took an in-depth look at vasectomies in the Slovak Republic, the view of the Catholic Church towards this medical procedure, and why some Polish and Czech men choose to travel here for the procedure.
