Speaking from an aesthetic point of view, using blue and white together is considered to be a very elegant colour combination. It is also very popular, all around the world. In Slovakia, when speaking about this colour combination, the immediate association would be blueprinted textiles, which were typically used in traditional Slovak folk costumes.
Recently, this traditional technique has been approached by young designers. They are exhibiting their innovative works in the Design Studio of the Centre for Folk Art Production in downtown Bratislava. At the same time, this centre dedicated an exhibition to the traditional blueprint called “Coloured in Blue”. This can be found in the gallery of the Centre for Folk Art Production on Obchodna Street. Both of these exhibitions are on until 10 January, 2015.
