The village of Ratnovce has something quite unique for those making their final journey from the land of the living: an elevator for coffins.
Built during the times of volunteer work brigades, locals spent months designing and building this creative solution to the problem of carrying heavy coffins up the often dangerous path to the church and cemetery at the crest of the hill.
