In 2018, the Bratislava music festival welcomed one of the world top 20 symphonic orchestras according to Gramophone, the world's leading classical music magazine. The Czech Philharmonic indeed is one of the few European orchestras that has been regularly invited to tour the USA. It was no sooner than in October 2018, that the successor of its late principal conductor Jiří Bělohlávek (ed.note - he died in June 2017) started performing with the Czech Phil. It was thus an honour to learn that world famous Semyon Bychkow launched his inaugural tour with the Czech Philharmonic in Bratislava.
