The recently launched book "Do we need an invisible museum?" will be presented to the public at an event held on Thursday at the Goethe institute in Bratislava. It challenges the idea of a museum of Romani culture in Slovakia. Artists, academics, activists and people working in the sphere of culture in Slovakia and other European countries contributed with their perspective on a new institution which "goes beyond the traditional ethnographic approach, and is informed by interdisciplinary thinking, de-colonial and feminist theories and practices, and which builds on participation and collaboration". The book was published by tranzit.sk, a network of autonomous initiatives in contemporary art in three languages - Slovak, Romani and English.
