3 January 2024 marked 100 years since Czech poet Jiri Wolker passed away. He was one of the top outstanding talents of Czech poetry in the 1920s, the period following WWI full of avant-garde experiments in art. At his trip to the sea in Croatia, he contracted tuberculosis. From June through December 1923, he was treated for this fatal disease in the Dr Michal Guhr sanatorium in Tatranska Polianka.
